We would like to invite you to our spring exhibtion in The Hague Salon with the theme
“”Elegance at Sea: the opulent salons of Dutch Steamships around 1900”
The theme highlights the luxurious interiors of Dutch steamships, designed by Theo Nieuwenhuis and Lion Cachet. For shipping companies such as SMN, KPM and also the Holland-America Line, they created floating works of art with wood carvings and art nouveau elements, symbols of Dutch craftsmanship and maritime grandeur.
During our upcoming exhibition you will not only get an impression of the splendor of the cosmopolitan salons, but you can also admire and possibly purchase original wall and ceiling decorations, furniture and lamps from these historic steamships!
We also show museum-quality works of art from the European Art Nouveau and Art Deco period 1880-1940, including special posters, (animal) sculptures, glass art, lamps, furniture, pottery and a very extensive collection of Rozenburg Den Haag eggshell porcelain.
You are most welcome for a snack and a drink!
